Synopsis

he story follows Ed Saxberger (played by Willem Dafoe), an elderly New York postal worker who experienced a brief flash of literary success in his youth after publishing a book of poetry in 1979. Decades later, his long-forgotten work is suddenly rediscovered by a group of pretentious, twenty-something creatives known as the "Enthusiasm Society". Led by a young admirer named Meyers and a mercurial actress named Gloria (played by Greta Lee), the group pulls Ed into their self-styled modern literary salon. This sudden attention forces Ed to confront his past, his artistic identity, and the generational differences between his lived experiences and the youths' romanticized view of a bygone New York
